Cholesterol is the precursor for all the sex steroid hormones, which then metabolize to pheromones. When cholesterol levels fall too low, first the body begins to manufacture it (which explains why cholesterol is difficult to regulate by diet alone). When the body can\'t manufacture enough cholesterol, organ systems begin to shut down. The take home message is, control your cholesterol, but not to the extreme--as you will at some point limit your pheromone production.
