New report on

international energy reserves from the Congressional Research Service.

Link to the actual

Report (http://epw.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Files.View&FileStore_id=f7bd7b77-ba50-48c2-a635-220d7cf8c519

)

As shown in the charts below, the U.S. has 1,321 billion barrels of oil when combining its

recoverable natural gas, oil and coal reserves. The CRS reported barrels of oil equivalent for other sources of

energy, ie gas and coal.

While Russia is a close second with 1,248 billion barrels, other energy producing

nations are far behind. No. 3 is Saudi Arabia (543 billion barrels), followed by China (494 billion barrels), Iran

(426 billion barrels) and Canada (221 billion barrels).

Any guesses as to why we're not energy independent, and

not providing tens of thousands of jobs and lowering energy costs in this

country?

I sometimes think the powers-that-be

behind the throne are secretly downplaying our (US) reserves, with the intent of getting other counties to deplete

their own supplies, so eventually, we will have oil, and those other guys won't, and we can start dictating terms

to them...

I prefer to think that the Mad

Hatter is in control and Alice remains suspicious of the
Cheshire Cat's surrepticious grin.
