i
bought a bottle of NPA and SoE a few years ago (5 i think). didn't use those very often
http://iconarchive.freehostia.com/frownn.gif - i kept the bottles in a completely dark place and at low
temperature...
so these days wanted to try the pheromones again... you think they still work? or should i buy
some new bottles?

others have posted
similar questions about pheromone shelf life. if the pheromones havent been subjected to changing temperatures and
have been in a dark place as you have stated, they should be fine. five years is a long time though, if you use them
be very observant while wearing them around other people. if you don't notice anything for at least a week of
continuous use, then the potency of the pheromones has probably degraded.

Recently I read a report about stability of pheromones and it was stated that a
decompotion in alcohol is not possible! The only threat is that apparently no bottle is absolutely close and as
pheromones are very exhalable it will lose effectiviness on this way!

I tend to agree with S-M and
5alpha. As with perfumes, air and sunlight are the worst enemies, not time. I'd give them a try and find out.

thanks for your advice. i'll
try it the next days and keep you updated if they still work!
Who knows? Maybe they improve with
age like a fine whine... er wine...

... and TE becomes to NPA over the
years
I do have some pheromone products
that are getting kinda old as a matter of fact... but more like as not I haven't been using them because I either
didn't get any reaction, or I got a bad one...
I suppose it may be an idea to dig some out and give them
another try to see if things are different. Who knows, maybe some DO "improve" with age.
The ones I do like, or
that I feel have given me "positive" results usually don't last long enough to see if they change over a relatively
long time as I use them up too fast.

Yes, pheromones exhale quickly. They
can not store for a few years.http://img.imagebaskets.com/img/u/G.gif

In a tightly closed container
kept in a dark place they should be fine almost forever. In the case of alcohol based products I would expect the
alcohol to evaporate first because it is so volitol.

Someone had mentioned EW
eating thru the dropper. I haven't noticed that or any leaking. Although the container I keep all the mones items
in certainly does have a strong EW smell when opened. Apparently the smell is strong enough to get out of a sealed
bottle.

I have contacted an phero-shop concerning the stability of pheromones and have got
following answer: Pheromones are stable for many years unless you do open the bottle! After broach the container,
pheromones are stable for 3 to 6 month! At least the manufacturer of PPA seems to recommend to consume the bottle
within this time!

I wonder about that answer from
them S-M. A manufacturer would certainly be motivated for you to use their product more quickly, both for sales
reasons and for potential dissatisfaction.
Pheromones are nothing more than chemicals-in-a-carrier, just like
commercial perfume, which can be viable for decades if stored properly.
I guess the big question is: are the
pheromone molecules themselves highly volatile, irrespective of the carrier?
I would guess that, given the
reality of "build-up" and "residual effects", they're not all that volatile, hence a long life span in the
bottle.
Andrew, have you tried out your old products yet?

Maybe it can not be
generalized, because the PPA is apparently mainly water-based! This was the reason too because I have ask them about
properties of PPA concerning evaporation rate, mixing and others! And that alcohol plays a big role in stability
make sense - alcoholic drinks like schnaps, wodka and even wine can stored for a long time wheras for example fruit
juice (once opend) is just stable for a few days but when not opend it can stored for a longer time! But as the most
LS-products are not water-based this should not been worried!

Have contacted LaCroy
regarding how long NPA can be stored:
Hallo,
I have a question about
NPA...
How long can I store NPA? And what happens after open the bottle? Have I do
consume the bottle within a
(short) time after I have first opened? I
conjunction with an other pheromone-product I have heard that a
closed
bottle can stored for a long time wheras a bottle once opend should consume
within any weeks! How is it
with NPA?
Thank you in advance!
As long as the bottle is
properly sealed and the alchol cannot evaporate,
you have a period of about 2 years! The pheromones do no go
out..it's
properly a marketing play to get you to use the product faster!

Yes true, also true that the storage proceedures of pheromone products is the
main contributing factor to the duration of their lifespan.
Like keep them away from direct sunlight and keep the
air out.
Also LT as you say is only active for a short
duration once it has been applied.
My last large bottle
of LT was good for nearly 2 years and even the last sprays worked in a very satisfactory manner, ( did the job and
created trust )
Although i had kept mine stored in the
door of my refrigerator since it arrived here, untill the very last dregs lol. LT is a good product when applied
with wisdom and knowledge.
