Rbt, A7 scented it great stuff. Its now a staple in my social stable. I normally

don't like scented -mones, but this one is really quite nice, and it lasts. I've found a couple of fragrances

that work with it very well, and I still cover it, but I can see it uncovered.

I get longevity too. I put it on

early in the evening and get nice results after midnight. :) I've found it warmly sexual layered with SoE and

sometimes A1, depending on the situation.

Sorry Guy, just noticed your question.

I like out of the ordinary frags in

general, so take these suggestions as you will.

The absolutely best scent to cover (and complement) A7/s is

Rabanne La Nuit. Hard to find (discontinued) but pure sensual animalic sexy greatness. You can still find it and

not that expensive since it was never popular.

IMHO, musky, leather, spicy scents work best for covering mones.

It depends on your age though. I'm 50, and the the people I mix with will appreciate different scents than a 20s

crowd.

I'll be happy to provide a list if you're interested.

The goal is to wear something that complements,

and not overwhelm.

If you ever find Eau d'Hermes buy it and send it to me! Very hard to

find. I've only been able to find a "mini". Do not confuse with Parfum d'Hermes, different fragrance.



Pheros, by our own DrSmellThis, is great for covering or on its own. Its just very very nice on many levels.

Its available at the L-S store, and I plug it whenever I can because its so good. But only if you like that kind of

scent. Warm, spicy, rich, comfortable, sensual, etc. Not for those who like light and fresh citrus type

scents.

Without regard to cost or availability, I like these for -mone cover.

Caron Third

Man (or Troisiemme Homme)
Hermes Bel Ami or Equipage
Yohji Homme
Dunhill (original)
Creed Tabarome
Ciro Danger


Malle Noir Epices
Knize Ten

A few drops of good quality

Sandalwood or Oud works great too.

Do you have other Creeds? If so, which do

you like best? I've only tried 2-3.

Lately I've been wearing Bel

Ami by Hermes, and find it an excellent blend with pheromones. It definitely contains a variety of analog

attractants, with its prominent animal, labdanum, and sandalwood notes. It's a great cologne.

But again, its

rich evening wear, not a fresh daytime citrusy scent like so many like.

I will

say I'm quite happy the way Pheros turned out. For those not familiar with it, it is designed to enhance

attraction, as well as to be synergistic with pheromones. I wear it all the time, and like it even better than I did

several years ago when it was introduced. The ingredients are top notch, and extremely costly; just like the most

expensive, top-end perfumes. It's not like a department store cologne. You are paying for the cost of the

ingredients, plain and simple. But it's a more down to earth, attraction-focused version of a top notch cologne,

rather than being fancy smelling.

I have only this Tabarome, but I

hear that the Green Irish Tweed is one of the best. I would like to order Pheroes & see how it works for me. It

sounds to me that it elevates people's minds to be in a good mood.

I mostly default to Pheros, but I'd like to branch out some for interest.

Green Irish Tweed might be a good

one, have to try it based solely on its name. :)

Creed Original Vetiver is a nice fresh green.

I also like

Terre d'Hermes, again, green.

What else guys? I need some help in this category. Daytime wear that is.

Idesign: what do you want to

smell like? I can recommend a few things, but it helps to know what you do and don't like. Do you want a new,

metrosexual fragrance (A*Men/JPG Le Male/Hanae Mori)? A more traditional one (Polo, Aramis)? Citrusy (Terre

D'Hermes)?

What I *don't* want to smell

like is everyone else.

I was in a Perfumania store over the weekend and smelled so many scents my head was

swimming. Looking for a good day/summer scent, I felt like I'd taken a chemical bath. I've nothing against

fragrance chemicals, but the current crop of colognes on the retail counter smell poisonous to me. Two standouts:

Clinique Happy and Chanel Egoiste. Almost bought the latter. Happy is too happy for my business.

I like Terre

d'Hermes, its more green to me. I'd like something on that quality level. Polo/Aramis etc are from my teen days,

and I don't want to go back there! :)

Guess I'll have to pore over Basenotes for a few hours sometime.

I have Cool Water - don't really like it.



Have Pheros - love it. It's my kind of scent.

Now I don't know if I can name names here, but I have found I

really prefer fragrances from the "small batch" custom places, not the mainstream commercial stuff. The ones I have

been trying of late are EO/oil based, and a little goes a long way and can last all day and into the night.

My

fav spot right now is the place that makes the famous "Love Potion No. 9" (although I haven't tried that one yet).

Order from web site.

My current inventory includes two bottles of Pheros. Interesting how the contents look ever

so slightly different... But delicious. Think I'll be needing a third bottle to stash away before it's all gone.

Exactly rbt, scent choices are uniquely personal. Cool Water is

immensely popular, but my sample has only been used once.

With spring here in the south and warm days, I just got

the urge for a light daytime fragrance, and my collection is short in that category because I like deep dark animal

leathers which make women howl at the moon. :) And I just like them (the scents).

I have some Creed samples on

order, and I'm optimistic. I agree with you, the perfume counter stuff is mostly uninteresting, to be

kind.

Yes, the EO scents are much more tenacious, but you have to be careful. Its very difficult to achieve a

good wearable fragrance with all natural ingredients. Not that it can't be done. DST has done it, and I like Andy

Tauer's stuff a lot. I'll check out your suggestion.

Fragrance and pheromones... pretty cool blend of

experimental fun.

Dug into the archives and put on

Eau Sauvage today. Great scent. I'm amazed that the far drydown still has some citrus amongst the spice/vanilla.

How do they do that? Even though its old, it smelled "new" to me. Maybe good enough to live past memories.

I did find Eau d'Hermes on ebay and got a great deal. It took

a while but worth the wait.

Other scents I found which I think are good for summer are:

Hermes Eau d'Orange

Verte. Very fresh and real, with none of the chemical-offensive thing you get so often.

Green Irish Tweed turned

out to be a very classical "pour homme" and very nice for business. I wish it lasted longer, same complaint with

the Hermes Orange.

Chanel Anteus. Day or night, very very good. It works like Eau Sauvage without the retro

aspect. I cannot recommend this one enough, if you're over 30. A great early Sean Connery, sprightly but

mature.

Its hard to find a man's scent that isn't either chemical-harsh or vanilla-heavy.

I have recently started using the

oild base as cover scents, such as Deer Musk, & Oud, sometimes a mix of them. They cover the mones perfectly & last

for more that 14 hours when I finally wash them before I go to sleep.

you're right. Sandalwood is nice and fresh too.
