I know a number of people who use

Limewire, but make sure your anti-virus softare is up to date, and scan everything it downloads. One guy ended up

with something called play[1].exe that he wisely refused to run till scanned and sure enough it was a

trojan.

Also there are Russian sites

with tons of mp3 files of popular groups but I am not sure if it is legal to give links according your laws.
We

have a notion of the copyright of our own :)

If I recall Limewire gives you some

sort of licensing warning if it's questionable, and of course you are "supposed" to pay any associated fees (honor

system).

Personally I only rip music off of CD's I have actually bought. And you can often get legit CD's

cheap off eBay and the like. I suspect someone buys it, copies it, then sells it, so the legallity may still be in

question unless you keep the CD yourself.

Amazon's MP3 store. $.89 cents a

song, mp3 formatted, no DRM, and (just recently) all 5 major labels. If your device can play an MP3 you can put

Amazon songs on it.

VERY happy with my purchases so far from there.
