today i
went to a BBQ, wore SOE on my forearms...a strip from wrist to elbow. then when i was doing the BBQing with the
guys...the guys there mentioned "Hey, why is there a chemical smell ?"....
any fellas can enlighten me on dat ?

I'm thinking the
BBQ'ers weren't from Memphis and probably did it wrong!Did you have scented or unscented?

scented. i'm from Singapore.
Maybe the heat caused the pheromones to undergo changes ?

No, that wouldn't be enough
heat and mones do not have a chemical smell. The carrier might with some, but not SoE. Had you said something about
cat piss or BO I would have thoguht about conversions but not a chemical smell from the mones. Perhaps there was
something on the wood or the paint or the cooker or charcoal starter?

It could have been that they
used the word "chemical" for their lack of a better word. Bel's right, but your buddys might not have known
better. But it could have been anything for that matter.
