The Edge bottle vs. the gel pack in scent.

A few weeks back I used a TE gel pack for the first time. I used a whole pack, half on the sides of my

neck and the rest on my forearms. (I know, I know) The scent was fabulous! It was deep, dark, woody, and masculine.

It lasted all night w/out being over powerful.

So I bought a bottle TE/m [the sandlewood version]. I sprayed it

on and started to choke. It was terrible. It smells like womens perfume. I let it cool down... nothing

changed.

To give it a more proper test... I sprayed one spray on a piece of paper, placed some TE/gel on an other

piece, and on a third piece of paper I placed a drop of sandlewood oil. I had a few people smell them. They stated

that the spray was very feminine, and the gel was weaker but more dark. The oil was in the middle of the road

between the spray and the gel.


BTW: my bottle has a red dot on it.

Has anyone else noticed a difference

between the spray vs. the gel?

I've read so many great reviews on the fragrance of TE and I am a little confused

ATM.

I'm having a hard time figuring out where you've "read so many great

reviews on the fragrance of TE", since regular TE isn't scented and smells damned near as nasty as NPA. Are you

sure it was TE and not AE (http://love-scent.com/product_info.php?ref=66&products_id=123) that you were

thinking about?

The bottled version of The Edge that most resembles the

TE Gels (http://love-scent.com/product_info.php?ref=66&products_id=57) is actually the

Men's SANDALWOOD version of The

Edge (http://love-scent.com/product_info.php?ref=66&products_id=10).

How a bottle of TE could smell in ANY way "like womens perfume" also has me baffled. Regular

men's Edge smells pretty much like a cat piss martini. Acrid stank and alcohol. Nothing even marginally "feminine"

about it. Great stuff, but it totally requires a fragrance cover even in very small quantities.

forgot to mention I bought the version you linked.

Men's SANDALWOOD version of The Edge (http://love-scent.com/product_info.php?ref=66&products_id=10), not

the Essentials or the unscented. This should make a difference in gist of the post.

Tonight I went out and had a few female friends smell

the product I have. Two immediate responses... "it smells like baby powder".

Well, the scent of TE gel pack is

nicer than TE bottle. It is sooooooooo fresh like flowers & it drives women crazy.
