Profound concerns about President Bush's illegal domestic spying, state sanctioned

torture, suppression of dissent and free speech, illegally outing a CIA agent, lying a nation into war, ignoring

Congress, subverting the Geneva convention, failure to respond to Katrina, and violating Federal statutes; has

brought up a very serious, and to some degree bipartisan, discussion about impeachment as the only appropriate

remedy. The result is House Resolution 635.

Here is the link from the CSPAN site. Please allow two hours

for this excellent and important panel discussion and town hall style

meeting:

nt)

Do something:

Please join me (DST) in signing up to be a "citizen cosponsor" of the bill to create a

committee to investigate the case for impeachment. This committee would simply give the evidence a chance to be

brought to light to citizens and congress, and fairly evaluated; not impeach the president. I strongly

believe this has nothing to do with partisanship; and everything to do with citizens defending our constitution

against a brazen move toward tyranny. See below letter from Congressman John Conyers for

instructions:

Is There a Case for Impeachment?

I appeared last week at a Harper’s Magazine forum which addressed the conduct of the Bush

Administration and whether it has committed crimes that rise to the level of impeachment. A crowd of 1,500

enthusiastically heard from several experts and me as we discussed the tyranny of a President acting to commit a

fraud against the United States.

I need your help to build the case for an impeachment

I have conducted an exhaustive study on this subject and

believe that we must begin the process to investigate this administration for possible impeachable offenses. As

former congresswoman Elizabeth Holtzman noted at the forum, a groundswell of public support is necessary for

impeachment proceedings to succeed. There was overwhelming public support for pursuing a case against Richard

Nixon, while these same conditions did not exist when the Republicans tried to impeach President Clinton. Public

opinion is on our side and now is the time to make a difference.

Become a Citizen Cosponsor
I have

introduced House Resolution 635 to create a special committee to investigate whether the president's misconduct

rises to the level of impeachment. 29 Members of Congress have already joined me as

cosponsors. Lend your support. Help build momentum to enact

this legislation by joining the more than 42,000 concerned Americans who have already

signed on as Citizen Cosponsors at:

in light of the censure being thrown out. I've done it already, it's not hard to do. Just follow the links and

do it if you want change.

...Might be good timing,

since Bush just hit a new low in job evaluation by the people. The trend line is consistently straight down, so I

cannot imagine him getting anything but less

popular:

I've been wondering where

John Conyers got my email. :D I've been getting emails from him for almost a year.

It's easy to opt out from

those, but I see him as having lots of ideas others are to afraid to have, so I glance at everything he sends me.

He's an old guy who calls like it like he sees it, as far as I can tell.

Yeah, I like him too. Took me

a long time before I realized he wasn't in my state, though. :D
