My family and I have been using it

regularly in huge amounts for a couple of years now. We use it almost exclusively in place of butter, margarine

etc. I'm curious to hear what others have to say about it. I read up on it back when we made the switch, but I

forget the details.

Do you find any value in its usage, Signor Bruce? Have

you been swinging through any trees and beating on your chest upon landing?:whip:

I use it as a vegetarian source of

Omega-3 and Omega-6.
My cholesterol has always been low — even when I was a carnivore and ate biscuits

and gravy for breakfast — so I have no idea if it’s helping.
On the other hand, I also used to eat a lot

of fish (which I no longer do). So maybe the fact that my cholesterol is still low is a sign that flaxseed oil

works.

Mobes,

At 56 I feel great

pretty much 24/7 and rarely come down with anything even when the kids come home with the usual colds and flu. Hard

to trace the cause exactly though. I eat well, take vits and herbs like they were going out of style, do yoga twice

a day, hit the gym a few day a week, sleep well etc etc. I do think that eating the "good" fats and not eating the

"bad" fats is big part though. The average diet has a lot of nasty fried oily stuff in it. Get all that out and

set a big bottle of flax seed oil on the table and I think you should notice a change. Try it for a month: no fried

food, no butter or nasty oils of any kind and as much flax seed oil as you feel like pouring on your food. See

what happens.

Ah, I've been researching

this stuff recently. I've tossed out everything other than the olive oil. I've replaced mayonnaise with an

avocado spread.

Also made wild alaskan salmon a must-eat a couple of times a week. In the winter you can still

find the wild salmon either frozen or canned.

I am a bit weary of flaxseed oil because of articles like these

ones.

Did I read wrongly because I just bought two things of Flax seed oil, or is it kind of saying it

stimulates the growth of tumors that are ALREADY there?

Yes, that is how I understand it as well.

The problem is,

however, that for men it is but a matter of time before they develop prostate cancer. It's

usually a very slow-growing cancer, so many die of other causes and don't even know they

had it.

So if you're young and have no family history of it, I wouldn't worry. Flax seed oil is excellent for

cardiac health.

From what I understand Flax

promotes the growth of SOME kinds of tumors that have already propogated. Personally I take both flax and fish oil

capsules, and cook only with Virgin Olive Oil. Other types of
Olive Oil are not as effective.
