View Full Version : Being Charged Twice... ?

Hey,

I just received a email from PayPal

saying my account is in negative standing. The reason now being that I have two charges from

Love-Scent.



Feb. 13, 2006 Debit Card

Purchase To LS PRODUCTS 800-662-8633 NV Completed Details
-$129.86 USD

$0.00 USD -$129.86 USD

Feb. 12, 2006 Debit Card Purchase To LS

PRODUCTS 800-662-8633 NV Pending Details

One of the charges is pending, but PayPal deducts the amount

from the total, even if it is pending.

Any help here? And no I didn't

click the order button twice.. Proof of this is that the two charges appeared on different days. Had I clicked twice

the date would be the 12th both times.

The process is automated. Nobody at

Love Scent activates the orders. Somehow, someway, the "button" got pushed twice or else something strange happened

at PayPal, but I don't remember ever having a double order at PayPal. It happens with credit card orders quite a

bit. In any case, we can fix it of course.

The address to contact is support(at)love-scent.com though, not

service. I'll edit Bel's message now.

is not going to go through anyway (check it now), but drop me an email.

I checked into this order and it has

nothing to do with PayPal. There was an order, but it was a credit/debit card order, not a PayPal order. If PayPal

notified you about a problem it was because of a different order.

Also, the order only went through once

(on the 12th). We only got paid one time, and like I said it was via debit card into our regular card merchant

account, not PayPal.

I got from Tammy. Well I called up PayPal and what they said is the reason the account is in negative standing is

due to the pending charge. The Pending charge is from Love-Scent. What PayPal does is allocate the correct amount of

funds, so when a merchant charges the account, it goes through without a problem.

Directly from PayPal…

"Why

is my purchase 'Pending'?
Merchants typically send the final amount to be charged 3-4 days after the original

purchase date. Because of this delay, the status of your purchase is "Pending" and funds are held to cover the

expected final charge amount. Once PayPal receives this final charge amount, your purchase is automatically marked

as "Completed"."

I haven't really used my debit card in a while. I only use it for online purchases so far the

only recent charges are from Love-Scent. As stated before my statement shows two charges from LS PRODUCTS

800-662-8633 NV.

Transaction ID #1FC79226JX3208219 - PENDING - -$129.86 USD
&
Transaction ID #1DN12386KT114104N

- COMPLETED - -$129.86 USD

So what it basically means the funds are being deducted from my account for the

PENDING charges.

I hope that better explains what the problem is. I'll be grateful if you can look into it once

more. If not anything else I guess I can wait a few days after which if the transaction is not completed the funds

will be replaced back into my account.

Oh I think I forgot to mention

this before. The Debit Card is the one issued from PayPal that I use every once in a while for online purchases, and

if necessary when I'm out of cash.

So basically all the purchases from the Debit/Credit Card will go through via

my PayPal account and will show up there.

OK, a little more in focus now.

Still though, it is a credit/debit card type order, not the traditional "PayPal order". To us it works just like a

normal credit card order. The only difference is that they take the money out of your PayPal account instead of

your bank account.

On our end, the purchase is not "pending". It was completed within seconds of your

pushing the button and shipped the same or following day. If you haven't gotten it already, you will very soon.

It is definitely "in the mail". Now what that "pending" charge is all about, I have absolutely no idea. Never even

heard of such a thing happening. We got paid once and got one order which we have shipped. If I were you, I would

just keep an eye on that "pending" entry and see what happens to it on Monday. With a little luck it will

disappear. It smells like a glitch in the PayPal system to me. I don't think they have been in the debit card

business all that long, have they?

Yea.. it's a bit confusing but

its all sorted out now.

PayPal removed the Pending Charge and I got my money back, my good old money :) No idea

why it happened or how but everything is sorted out now.

And hopefully the package will come soon... never

thought it would take the entire week to get here but hopefully wil be here today or Monday.
