You have to hold the finger

slightly loose over the top or you'll get less than a dab, a mere dabette.

I said "slightly loose," not

loose as a goose! If it's really tight hardly anything will come out. I suppose you could twitch the finger quickly

to reach dab status. I assure you the finger is a highly pressure sensitive device. Nevertheless, nothing worse than

a dabette and no date.

I suppose if you're really anal you might consider a graduated pipette. I normally

mix NPA in an atomizer with Burberry Weekend and spray dangerously unmeasured amounts of 'none while on the run. If

I get too carried away women begin to jump out and bite me on the ass, so be careful.

I get the generall impression when

someone speaks of "dabs" they've removed the dropper insert thingie from the bottle.

Whether "dabs" or "drops"

are "better" I'm not sure. If anything, in my mind, it's just a way of doing a slight variation of the amount

applied, and there may not be an appreciable difference (in regards to a product that comes with a dropper insert in

the first place). I suppose for those products that don't originally come in a dropper insert bottle, you could

transfer the contents to an empty bottle that did have an insert, unless a spare insert will fit in the non-insert

supplied bottle.

I just get the feeling it may not really be that big a diff in the long run in regards to the

"dosage" amount. "Fine tuning" to that degree seems a little obsessive. Then again I'm a lazy "grab and go"

type...

Some

do but I got the impression most leave it in, otherwise it will leak in your pocket and you'll have to beware of

cats and horses. I leave mine in.

I was thinking that most people leave the product bottles themselves at home. Maybe I'm

wrong. I've not really considered taking one or more along in my pocket, but would use something like a small

atomizer or separate screw-top (with a good seal) bottle if I did carry the stuff.

While we are on the subject

of "dabs," I think I'll mention a thought I had recently and see what other forum members think.

I was

wandering through an office supply store and spotted a little widget that I remember from many years ago, and an

idea struck. It's a smallish bottle with a absorbent pad or sponge on the top, designed to be filled with water and

used for dampening water-based adhesives (like postage stamps). Anyone ever give a thought to using such a thing as

a cologne or pheromone "dabber?" Something of an alternative to the uneven roll-tops or the finger dabs. Could even

apply in strips/stripes! (Or whatever other pattern suits your fancy.)

I probably should just buy one and try it

myself. Hmmmm....

very good idea

I try to completely

self-contained and ready when I go mobile. I keep a partially filled small NPA bottle (big one stays at home) and

SOE bottle at ready as well as cologne/NPA/A1 in an atomizer. I have packets of SOE hidden in my office and car for

emergencies. But yeah I love the little dropper top on NPA and find it affords excellent control of dosage. I don't

care for the roller on the SOE or the eye-dropper doo-dad on the A1 bottle.

In re: "dauber bottles."

I'll

have to take a closer look at the "stamp licker" ones. No doubt some are better quality than others. The ones I'd

seen had a round pad, but I also recall seeing the wedge-shaped ones. Plus bingo game marker bottles also may be a

possibility...

Won't know till I try.
