View Full Version : The Boomer Room

Folks,

I have been

wanting to do this for ages. Finally, on a Monday of all days I can't wait any longer.

The Boomer Room

will/would be a special "members only" section of the forum where boomers can meet and discuss boomer issues. Feel

free to ask questions about the board here in this thread, but if you would prefer not to identify yourself publicly

as a boomer, you can email me about getting added to the list.

To become a member of the Boomer Room forum,

you would have to:
Be 40ish or beyond (and prove it somehow)
Be a Love Scent customer (mainly for

identification purposes)

Now... the kind of topics that pop into my mind when I think about the Boomer Room

are:
Parenting issues
Marriage issues
Health/anti-aging issues

Stuff like that, but those are just a

few things that come to mind at the moment.

Anyway, enough for now. Let me know if there is

interest.

How about a Hijacker's room for

those who like to take over informative threads with one liner BS back and forth?

years (what the heck, I'm an old fart).

hijacker forums. Open discussion and humor.

40ish? Late 30's count?

Mtnjim

I think one of the requirements

would be that you can't write like:

"U r 2 young"

I mean, the synapses are already gone, do we have to

work that hard to read the posts??

Now get off my lawn you young wipper snapper!!

Bruce

MJim, Writing like that is clearly

grounds for dismissal from the club.

Yeah, "40ish" meaning "if you are in your late 30s and really want to

get in that bad well OK". Actually, if you have a wife and 3 kids, you should get in at any age. :-)

Hi Bruce,

I like the

input of the "young unes", it makes for funny reads sometimes. But you've been wanting to do this for ages, so

hey.... we should do it. Are you sure the "young unes" aren't going to feel "offended"?

Another fun thing I

came across on another forum is that they had a chat feature. They would then have virtual get-togethers on a

planned-ahead day/time. But conversations tend to be very superficial in a setting like that, so maybe it is not the

cup of tea of this crowd?
Now I'm off to Google for Illya Kuryakin! :type:

Why does it have to be an exclusive

club? I’m sure the younger generations have already figured out we don’t know a damn thing.

So, have

you seen him lately? He is "Duckie" on "Navy NCIS".
Quite a different story, but an interesting aside; "Duckie"

was asked by one of the other characters what he looked like when he was younger and he answered "Illya Kuryakin",

to which the other character asked "who?".

By the way, Bruce. I was just playing the "grumpy old

codger" to make sure I get into the club.

I'm not offended, I think

it's a great idea as long as it doesn't detract from good discussion in other forums.

I'd volunteer, even though

as a "youngin", to help contribute in the health/anti ageing part of the new forum section. After all, that is what

BDC Concepts does on the side :D.

Think the

parenting/marriage thing is great

(although I add I think there are plenty of

longterm partner problems without the "joy" and status of the "blissful" (??) married title!!!)

HOWEVER....I would be excluded  as Im only 34! I

have five children though, and a wonderful but sometimes frustrating marriage :frustrate

It would be nice to talk about those frustrations sometimes even though Im

considered too young!!

:) Smiles
