I'm currently browsing
the forum in search for info on new products that I want to buy from the shop, but I find it rather difficoult and
discouraging to read through the posts as there are soo many cases of these errors in them:
</font><blockquote><font class="small">Quote:</font><hr />
bla bla bla bla
<hr /></blockquote><font
class="post">
bla bla bla bla
img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif[/img])
</font><blockquote><font
class="small">Quote:</font><hr />
/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
Is there a way of fixing
this? I've tried with both IE and FF, but get the same thing with both programmes. Maybe the mods can repair the
board if there's errors with the board?
Cheers :drunk:

Those 'errors' are from the
transition from the old to the new forum. The only way to 'fix' them would be to make those codes mean something
(aka translate into images or new font sizes) again so that you'd see the results of the code and not the code
itself since it no longer has meaning to the forum.

The mods can more or less deal with it by
searching out all the threads and deleting or modifying the codes to be compatible with the new forum engine. You
are talking about a huge project that we just do not have the time to tackle. I imagine if somebody had access to
the code they could create redirects to the new smileys or generate additional ones to match the ones being called.
I am not enough of a programmer to even consider it, even if I had the time.

modifying the codes to be
compatible with the new forum engine
This would be great yes, but I do understand that it might involve
alot of work.
I also keep having this thought that I't'd be so nice to have a dedicated forum section with
just the very best post, but this would probably take a lot of work too.

It would also be very subjective. There are threads I find offensive that
others think are wonderful. So, who decides which is good or bad?
