Wanting to get a couple more atomizers in the 5mm range, I was disappointed* to find that Sunburst Bottle no longer

had the cheap, but well made bullet atomizers that they were offering around this time last year. I had saved

another company's link and though they are much more expensive than the ones I bought from Sunburst Bottle, check

out these (https://www.alicealiya.com/atomizersking/Pen/index1.htm) cool looking pen atomizers from

Atomizers King (https://www.alicealiya.com/atomizersking/index.html).

*I'm really disappointed as

the same atomizers that I paid $2.15 a piece for at Sunburst sell for

$13.50 (https://www.alicealiya.com/atomizersking/Bullet/P150-02.htm) at the "King."

Thanks IP!

Sephora Ala Moana (& probably

most other Sephora stores) carries a couple nice atomizers: a silver plated bullet model and a silver painted

lipstick one. I bought both and the spray is fine, even and doesn't leak after all day upside-down in my pocket.

They're about half the size of the atomizers sold on LS. I would have bought more if they came in more colors (so I

can tell each one apart without

labels).

That

second one looks like an atomizer I use for vermouth when I make Martinis. (Without the fancy squiggly on it.)

BTW, Gegogi, thanks

for the tip on Sephora for the atomizers. I want one or two of the pen ones I linked to today but am trying to save

money for vacation next week. I still intend to finally stop at the San Diego Sephora this time though, if only to

window shop. (Nasal shop?) I think if I like the Creed samples I mentioned I ordered online in another thread, I

will order them online also, now that I see what the full cost of them is. Unless I can get some minatures at

Sephora.

I've been meaning to ask you something. I lived in Hawaii for a few years

starting the summer of 1967, while my dad was stationed at Schofield Barracks. I was there when the first Mc

Donald's came to the islands.

Your mention of the Aloa Moana Shopping Center tonight triggered my question.

Do they still have that restaurant that had the cooked ducks with their heads attached hanging in the window? I

always liked to stop at that window when we passed it. Other memories was a nearby hamburger joint, "Hamburger

Heaven," which I didn't like as they put mayonaise on their buns, but my dad liked the place, and the Rotunda

Restaurant. Is the Rotunda still there too?

Though I didn't have much freedom as an eight year old kid there

and I realize things have changed drastically, we just got a Hawaiian barbeque here, which made me nostalgic for the

Islands. The BBQ place is a nice change with our multitudes of Mexican restaurants. Eating there last weekend and

something you posted about the same time brought these questions to mind.

I was a little kid living in the Pac NW in '67! However, there are several Chinese restaurants

in Ala Moana Ctr. Perhaps it was Patti's Chinese Kitchen? It was there in 1978 when I washed ashore on Oahu, and

they used to hang whole ducks in the window. Jackie Chan has a restaurant there now. No Hamburger Heaven or Rotunda.

Ala Moana is mostly upscale shops like Channel, CD, Coach, etc., catering to rich Japanese tourists. Lots of

beautiful women with shopping bags.

No Rotunda? That was a cool place. A round, penthouse restaurant next door to Aloa

Moana, where the floor moved while you dined, so your view constantly changed.

IIRC, Ala Moana wasn't that

upscale back when I lived there. But the only store I can remember going to regularly there was Sears.

There is a rotating penthouse

restaurant on top of the Americana Hotel. It's called Aaron's.

Ouch! I was looking at the prices on

"King" and Sephora and can see why you have to choose between an atomizer and a vacation... Then again, you pay for

quality. At least I *hope* they are quality items...

I bet those are fun to have

when going through airport security.

I'm trying

to keep the credit card purchases to a minimum right now as I know it will be used a bit next week. A $20+ atomizer

right now could mean the difference of one dinner in a mid-scale restaurant or McDonalds. Besided, at this point,

they probably wouldn't arrive before the trip and I wanted one or two to save space instead of having to pack a

full bottle of cologne.

Can understand the space problem when traveling! I used to travel with

someone who I swear brough the whole house with them, and full-sized bottles of everything even for a 3 day

weekender. Oy! I'd have one suitcase, they'd have three. Bulging at the seams.

Plus a nice compact atomizer

would be cool for everyday use for sure. No need to carry the whole bottle for a few spritzes worth. Plus if it

leaks you aren't risking your main stash. I've yet to find atomizers (or even just small bottles) sold anywhere

around here. I should see if anyone has one that would fit on a keychain or something.
