Fishypoo's not giving up

the info, so, can anyone tell me what is a browser, and how do you change/switch it? Anyone? Anyone?

Short for Web Browser; it

is the tool (program) that allows you to surf the web. You probably used your Web Browser to locate this page. The

most popular Web Browsers right now are Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer.

What browser do you want to

switch to and from? I heard FireFox was good.

is what I click on to get on the internet?

I emailed Bruce about not being able to use my coupon, and

he asked what browser I was using ... I couldn't answer the question. This is the third time trying to use a coupon

to order, with the same problem, and it seems I'm the only one. Maybe it's a sign for me not to order.

Thanks, CB!

Yes!
That would be Internet Explorer.

tuna!!! (and that of all her perfume experimentations all day long!)
Now that I'm squeakie clean I shall have to

use :hammer:

So what browser do you use? I can't see how a browser would affect your coupon. Even when I was

using super-safe Mozilla Firefox I was getting my coupons.

Are you sure you typed in the coupon correctly?

:POKE:

Euhm... and ...look at the top of your computer monitor. It should say it right there which browser it

is.

And you

too Tunapoo! It is there ... Microsoft Internet Explorer. So that's the browser! Now I can email Bruce

with the answer!!

And yes, I typed it correctly, smartyfishypants! :trout:

May the fresh be with

You can try Opera also. It

doesn't have the privacy issues of IE or the inability to see certain things that Firefox has.

What don't you like about

IE?

I hve heard good things about both Opera (if you're willing to pay for it) and the new Firefox (which I

have but rarely use, for some reason.)

IE, like all browsers, has some

serious security issues. We hear a lot more about IE because it is so common, more than 80% of all internet users

are using it. So it naturally is a target for the most hackers.

And, unfortunately, a

lot of web sites are written to specifically take advantage of features that are in IE that are nonstandard and not

in the other browsers. This means the sites "break" when viewed in the other browsers. (For the tech heads, Active

Server Pages, ".asp" being one example.):type:

IE can behave kinda crazy at

times too.

So, is there anyone who has IE

such as meeself, having problem using the discount coupeepon to save a buck or two, or is it that it's just

anti-Mobley friendly?

Yep, my first was fine ... the problem came the secon, the third, and now

the fourth. Wish I didn't need to use a coupon  , but ......

Opera attempts to emulate IE in how it

handles .asp and is fair at it. Still not as reliable, emulations never are.

Yes, I had it set as my default, but I had to switch to IE to get those smilies to

work, even though I had marked love-scent as an allowed site on every security option I could find.

I just downloaded the FireFox

... now, where the hell is it!? Is it automatically inserted into IE? Is it hiding somewhere on my computer?

Do I need to use it to get on the net for what's not working on IE, to work?

Why didn't I get handed

down computer genes!

Someone, anyone, pleeeeeeeease, helllllllllllllllp me!

Where did it say it would

download it too? If you don't remeber the easiest thing to do is just downloadd it again and tell it to save it to

your desktop. But check first to see if is already there.

Okay, I found something using the

FIND thingy. It's on the C drive, but it has two things ... first it has FIREFOX SETUP 1.0.2. Then there's

something else with the IE blue "E" and then reads firefox[1].htm.

A hardy THANKS, Bel! It said I have to close all running programs, so I think I could be

on to something. Thanks to you!

I'm outta here! If I don't make it back, my computer blew up!

Alright, I'm

going to assume that you not only downloaded it, but also installed it on your puter!

After I installed

it, it showed up as an icon on the bottom of my screen. Next to the start button I first see the e of Internet

Explorer, and then something that looks like an orange circle with a little salamander on top. When I double click

on that it opens Firefox (OH maybe the salamander is a fox! :POKE: )

I can also go Start - All Programs -

Mozilla Firefox. You could then create a shortcut to your desktop.

Alrighty then!

FireFox heaven!

But still, Bruce, my coupon doesn't work. I'm still getting you have used this coupon a

max amount of times. 1  Fess up, this forum is anti-Mobley, yes?

Since I can't use'em ... Who wants

to buy my points? The bid starts at 1 million dolla, Joe!

CptKipling

Maybe the problem is that you

are deleting your cookies? Maybe there is a cookie for the coupon, and if you delete it, it's gone. Just a

thought.

Or maybe the coupon system isn't advanced enough to recognise a second legitimate coupon?

belgareth
04-08-2005, 05:24 PM
It has to be identifying him

somehow. The forum does it through IP addresses for things like polls but cookies store our username and passwords

locally. You use an account for the store, right? Talk to Bruce about deleting your account and recreate it or just

create a new account. If the account has a glitch, that should solve the problem.
