RIP. Definitely the passing of
an era. Smart man. Didn't agree with many of his views, but he was an advocate for peace, was a hard worker, and
wasn't afraid to speak his mind.
My hope is that this might open the door to reforms in the Catholic Church --
but I doubt it.

He was Pope longer than I've
been alive. I'll find it interesting to see how a transition affects the church...It's probably more influencial
than even a change in presidency because it happens so infrequently.

My hope is that
this might open the door to reforms in the Catholic Church -- but I doubt it.
The speculation I've been
hearing is that the Cardinals may choose a "transitional" Pope (like John 23rd), that is older and won't be around
for more than a few years. This is so the Church can "catch its breath" after John Paul's changes.
