Howdy,
There are important protein windows ... upon awakening, preworkout, postworkout, and at bed time. The most
important being ... post workout. In a post workout shake, which all the nutrients are supposed to be totally sucked
up and used by the body, is it advisable to add oats to that shake, or should oats be omitted?

After your workout, yes you
definitely want some protein. Fish would be a very healthy protein at that point. And yes, your body needs some
carbs to be able to metabolize the protein.
So to answer your question, a tuna/oatmeal blended shake sounds like
the perfect post-workout treat!

Wouldn't shrimp sauteed in
olive oil with a dash of thyme, linguine in a creamy parmesan sauce and some nice, crusty french bread do almost the
same thing but be just a little more appealing?

pipe, and quickly ... come back into the light! Get to the light!:whip:

Oh even at this early an hour of the
day, that sounds sooo tasty. Shall we add alot of garlic as well? And a glass of crispy (not sweet) white wine? And
then some nicely aged cheeses (for an extra kick of calcium and protein) with a mellow red wine?
Monsieur Mobes would prefer his shake though, therefore we should make blended tuna/oatmeal for him! Is he of
drinking age, do you think?

Lot's of garlic is a given. We
mustn't overlook the health benefits of that fine root.
Sounds like a great idea, when's dinner?
Your probably right. Ol' Mobley wouldn't want to step outside his regimine for something so decadent. He's
probably very strict about his diet.

If anyone every
decides that FishyPoo needs to be tied down and beat with feathers ... I'd looooove to help! Oh my! It's
back! How can I not!? :trout:
Bel, every since that Keebler Elf gave you a cookie, you've been losing your way!
 It's not too late for you! FishyPoo is too far gone, but you can, with a good effort, make it back to the
light. The light! Follow the light!!!!!!
P.S. Sounds like yous come up with some good fertilizer!

The question is...why would I
want to come back to the light? It's a lot more fun here on the dark side.
Being a cook, we eat well! It's
amazing how many good dishes you can make that are actually healthy. But then there are even more that are terribly
bad for you. We keep them over here on the dark side so as not to corrupt you good folk with them. You just stick to
your protein shakes and don't worry about us. :POKE:
As I sit here typing this they are discussing a news
report from Britain. This poor guy is driving along when something flies in through his window and breaks his nose.
The offending object turned out to be a frozen sausage. I knew they were bad for you but didn't realize the health
effects were quite so direct.

Lol. The important thing is
just to eat ASAP after a workout.

You're right, Doc ... just
trying to find out if adding oats to my post workout shake, would slow the body down from immediately
sucking up all the good nutrients, or not make a difference.

I don't really
know the answer to your question, but what I do is:
Complex carbs (such as oatmeal) before work-out give me
extra energy for a more intense work-out.
Good source of protein as soon as I get home after work-out to help
muscles rebuild. :hammer:
