Well... I'm

hoping DrSmellThis or KoolKing can answer this:

First a general question: I ordered a bunch of essential oils

from Snowdrift Farms, but the little 1/2 oz, 1 oz or 2 oz bottles do not have a dropper top, nor an eye-dropper

closure. For my mixtures, can I use a common eye-dropper and just go from one bottle to the next? Or will I be

contaminating scents?

KoolKing: I found a place in the Dover, Hannaford Plaza across from Papa Gino's that

sells all this stuff. Is Sue familiar with this place? Are they OK? They told me that putting an eye-dropper in an

essential oil bottle would attack the rubber of it. Is that true?

Could either of you recommend a good book so

I can figure out some good synergistic blends in the right proportions? I'm so new at this that I need to go with

some tried and true blends before venturing out on my own.

Tonight just for the fun of it I took some distilled

water - added 10 drops of Lavender oil, half an eye dropper of vanilla bean and sprayed it on our pillow cases. I

have not a clue if this was the ideal concentration/mix - Guess I'll find out in a couple of hours! Do I need to

have my mix in a glass bottle with sprayer head or are the little plastic sprayer bottles from Walmart OK? Am I

worrying too much about this stuff??? <img>

You'll want to have a

separate eye dropper for each oil. The rubber sometimes gets affected, but I don't worry about it. You casn clean

the glass part of eye droppers with ethanol; or rubbing alcohol and soapy water.

Check the Perfuming Basics

thread for a book reference.

If your mix is mostly water the plastic sprayer should be OK.
