I found this link to a
website that sells european colognes. Most of these colognes seem to contain scents from some of the more popular
scented oils. Perhaps DrSmellThis could give us his insights on if he thinks any of these might be a good buy and
if so which ones. Some of them look promising. Here's the link.

at $3 to $5 per bottle, did I read this right ? You should expect to reek of cheap... is this
repackaged potty freshener ? A dab of good quality fragrance trumps a bath in grotty chemicals... nothing ever so
sad as trying to make a high class impression with poor raw materials...

i was kinda thinking
the same thing myself , when i meant promising i was saying that some of the combinations sound promising. Cheap
doesn't neccesarily mean bad either... i suppose the only way to know would be to try them and find out. Plus i'm
not sure how they price fragrances in europe, that might also have something to do with it.

Hi GagOn,
Believe me, the nice designer perfumes cost as much in Europe as they do here. The ony place you
might get a deal on them is at a tax-free shop while in international transit. And even then, they're pricey. I see
you point about the interesting combinations. If you're looking for recipe's you couldn google for "esential oils"
and then recipe's. These looked like they are Russian or something like that. A far cry from the French perfumes,
I'm sure.

Naughty is right - most if not
all of the perfumes on the cosmeticsbag link are from Novaya Zarya, a very old Russian cosmetics company started by
a French perfumer. I've heard from some perfume lovers whose opinion I trust that some of these are quite nice -
Patchouli Magique and Moscou Rouge for example.

If you want to inexpensively try some fine fragrances
from European perfumers, though, I recommend doing a search on ebay for perfumes - use the word "decant" in the
search and you'll find many reputable sellers who sell small amounts for very reasonable prices.

Holmes, you're right - there
are some not-too-honest sellers on ebay. Personally I've bought perfume from perhaps 15-20 different sellers there
and always had a great experience. I pay close attention to their feedback - actually read the feedback, don't look
just at the percentage - because buyers many times are afraid to leave a negative for fear of retaliatory negatives
being put on their own record. So they may leave a positive, but make revealing comments to warn others away. If the
seller does have a few negatives, look to see what response they made, and if they left retaliatory negatives for
the buyers - I would avoid those sellers like the plague!
Anyone wanting some recommendations for honest
perfume sellers on ebay is welcome to PM me.

Have you smelled Flowerbomb by
Viktor and Rolf? I think it smells a little heavy, but really nice, very floral yet spicy. The thing that I
thought was so interesting was that when I opened the sample our dog went nuts, which is exactly the way he reacted
when I first tried pheromones. Wonder what's in the stuff! It's only available at Saks in the US, so I don't
know whether I'll get any or not, maybe just stick with the sample for now.
