The possibility to make a

thread sticky by paying points should be removed, having irrelevant threads sticked is confusing to newbies and

quite frankly pisses me off (but that's not the point is it? :D ).
If a thread is useful, mods will stick it

themselves, if they don't, there's a damn good reason.. :)

Yoel,

I think you are right.

So far there is only one, isn't there? Or did I miss something? I always figured "Well, if somebody buys a sticky

thread, we (the mods) can always *unstick* it whenever we want to."

I was referring to the couple that

popped up in the phero forum, I don't know if there are others.
As for unstickying them, I considered that too,

but then I thought that every single user-sticked thread didn't deserve to be sticked in the first place, so mods

will unstick it, and the user points will be lost. Which isn't really fair to them too.

I made one sticky (possibly

even the first user sticky on the forum), and would defend the decision to this day. If I were the point-whoring

kind, I might make a post both interesting, provocative, and make it sticky. It'd be interesting to see whether the

stickymaker is the same as the post author..

Without exception.
