I have

looked for Everclear in Sweden but it seems that this brand isn't stocked here.

I asked the lady at the

"Systembolaget" (which is a state owned and operated outfit that have a monopoly of selling wine and spirits in

Sweden, if you believe it...) and she had never heard of it.

I asked if she could recomend a substitute and

she thought that the "Absolute Vodka" would be fine.

Is this a good substitue for Everclear in dilluting EOs

in?

The reason they suggest Everclear

is because it is nearly 100% alcohol, while vodka is only 40%. That being said it would be possible to use vodka,

however everclear is recommended.

The point is to find something

scentless with the highest % of alcohol. You are looking essentially for pure ethanol, or something close. You can

ask for grain alcohol and see what they say. You can use "151 Rum" in a pinch, but that has a scent of its own. You

can also use jojoba or denatured palm oil to dilute. Vodka doesn't work, since the % of alcohol is too

low.
