View Full Version : how much interest do we accumulate by depositing our points in the bank?

i've been wondering about this...i couldn't find any posts on

this and the userCP and the Store don't say anything about it either. Bruce a little hint?

Yeah very true. i have

been curious for a long time cause i have this small little character quirk of mine where i have to like put any new

points in the bank just so i can collect interest. i dont think im anal or anything but o well.

lifetransform

naw that's not anal at

all, everybody loves to make their money work them...i just hope the interest is high enough to give us incentive to

keep it in the bank.

Guys,

Excellent question. It

is currently 2% calculated daily. I put some points in the bank a while ago, but I forget how much. It is now at

602.72 points, so that looks like I put in 600 about 2 months ago, doesn't it.

What I wonder is, if you put

money in the bank, does it appear in your total in the "richest members" list?

By the way, there is a "steal

somebody's points" feature on this points program that is shut off at the moment. When that is on, you can *try*

to steal points from somebody. It doesn't always work of course, and if you get "caught" something bad happens I

guess; probably have to pay a "fine". Money in the bank can of course not be stolen except by a "gang" of forum

members working together, and if they fail they get put into a virtual "prison" for a number of years where they can

only read newbie posts. I think they can get out early for good behavior though. :-)

Just kidding about the

bank robbery, but the rest is true, so that makes more incentive to keep your money in the bank if that is turned

on.

Sounds less like

a virtual "prison" and more like a virtual "hell".

I am pretty sure that the

money in the bank does not factor into the richest members list but i could be wrong.

And i went ahead and

deleted my other thread since there is no use having the same question on here twice.

No, it doesn't. I've got 4000

in the bank, it only puts me at 463 on the richest list.

I dunno. What do you think?

sounds dangerously

naughty...everyone will probably deposit everything they got into the bank first thing when u announce that it's

activated. hehe

is there a limit to how much u can steal? does the system allow u to rip someone off 9000

points in 1 try for example?

just kidding....

Well i mean if youd like you could donate a hundred or two points to me... naw i dont

care. id only use points for discount coupons and by the time i need a hundred dollars of pheromone supplies i will

hopefully have at least 50,000 points.

Also i kinda like the idea of people not knowing how many points you

have.

if u deposit ur points in

the bank it won't show up anywhere and nobody can tell how 'rich' u r. :-)

I am not in favor of enabling

any kind of "steal" function as this would only increase tension among forum members. Most of the people who have

a lot of points got there because they consistently posted useful and meaningful information on this forum. Of

course, for those who got them by being good gamers, that is all well and good too :) But my vote is AGAINST

anything that would allow point theft ... emphatically ...

you think?
Nay I say.

Maybe for something a bit more oriented toward juvenile delinquents, it

might be a cool feature. We try to serve an adult population, one where the only cool thing to steal is our phero

targets' interest.

im fine with the points

stealing either way cuz i always make sure all my points r nicely tucked away in the little bank anyway. but i

think u guys r right it would create destructive tension among the users. anybody else wanna put in their 2cents?

Point theft would suck....

Maybe I should just buy that discount coupon with my savings now... unless that expires or can be stolen too!

LOL @ You .. But

actually you just got me worried too!

 Okay,okay,okay

what should I buy?! *grins*

But seriously now, I really think the whole

theft thing is going to be trouble. I will be a little pissed if I see someone all over my points.. Not kool! I

wouldn't dare do that to someone..

But that is just me.

Bruce

I wouldn't worry about the point

theft thing. It is possible to run with this forum, but it doesn't look like a good idea. Another couple of ideas

we had were:
Points "gambling casino"
Points auction (returned products?)
Swap meet (purchased

products)

how does points auction

and swap meet work?
