I noticed there is an area under

everybodies name that says "Points" and a link that says "Donate".

I'm wondering, and I'm sure everybody

else is as well, what these are for and HOW DO I GET SOME??

Do you have any plans in the future for

the points?

No, look towards the top of the

page, where it has UserCP and stuff like that. There's a new button called "store", lets you get stuff like a

"glowing username" or "colored username". Maybe sexyredhead can be red again. I wish I knew haow many points those

things cost, all it says for me is "You don't have enough points"

Folks,

Yeah, another big pat

on the back for Webmaster. It's the Forum Store. You earn points a number of ways:
Rep points
Starting a

new thread
Replying to a thread
*Having your thread viewed* (passive income)
*Having your thread posted in*

(more passive income)
Having someone donate points to you
Stealing someone elses points (turned off at the

moment)
Leaving your money in the bank and collecting interest
Other stuff I can't remember at the

moment.

Once you earn the points you can put them in the bank and earn interest
Buy special features for

the display of your name
Buy a custom user title
Buy a whole new user name
Buy Love Scent products

(probably in the form of a discount coupon)
Bunch of other things that aren't turned on yet.

Should be

fun. I turned the amount required for your name in bold letters down real low, so that everyone could afford it

easily (only 5 points), and we can debug the system. So, could y'all go out and get yourself a bold

name?

Have fun,
B

Sorry KB, didn't mean to repeat

you. Looks like you got your submitted while I was writing mine.

Anybody know the prices of the little

benefits? It keeps telling me I don't have enough points, but won't tell me how many points I do need. I know a

bold username is 5 points, but I'd kinda like a new username, I just don't have the points to do it.

I'll post the price list pretty

soon. I just want to get an idea how folks are racking up the points and then tweak the list some before I post

it.

Awesome. I don't quite

understand how people are racking up the points either. I see mine keep going up, which I like. Firtt is one of

the richest people here, but I don't think I've seen anything from him lately.
Oh well, still an exciting

feature. Thanks Bruce and Webmaster!

einstein,
As i understand there

are 3 ways to earn points:
-posting -arcade games -donation

Ýf u want to boost your points:
1- Mail

bombardment. Easy for you but mods'll gonna be crazy.
2- Play arcade games. Takes a long time
3- Beg someone

to donate you.

ps: I'm going for the 2nd option.

Good luck.

I'll be going for the second

one too, but I'll still be trying to post whenever I can (like right now!).

The reason people who are not doing

anything are making points is because of the "passive income" feature. It is just like in real life. If you build

an apartment building and fill it full of renters, you will start getting "passive income", meaning you don't have

to work anymore to keep the money rolling in. In the forum here, if you build a thread, or even if you have built

one back before the "store" system was installed, you get passive income every time somebody posts in that thread.

In fact, you get a few points every time somebody even LOOKS at your thread. Just like rental property though, if

you don't take care of your thread, it will get run down, fall apart and stop generating revenue for you, so you

might want to keep an eye on your thread and keep the discussion on topic and intelligent, so that it continues to

be a meeting place for great minds instead of a mud puddle for a few zeros to splash around in.

Can you make it retroactive?

Seriously, though, what is the point of dumping

points in the bank? It didn't seem like I was collecting interest so I pulled them out.

Bruce

BJF,

I will check into the

interest thing, because you should be getting some. There is another point of puting your points in the bank though.

It keeps thieves from stealing it. I left this feature off until we could get used to the system, but normally,

folks can steal your money if you walk around with a large wad of it in your pocket. Thieves can be successful or

fail and suffer as a result of trying to steal your money and there is an elaborate algorythm which determines the

odds of success much like in a game of Civilization. Anyway, if you have your money in the bank, it can't be

stolen except by teams of experienced sucessful ciminrals. :-) Just kidding about the very last part. It is true

that money can be stolen if you leave it in your pocket though.

I'll have to see about the interest though.

I noticed that the tax system doesn't seem to work; it seems to reduce the cost rather than increase it. Also, the

arcade fees and jackpot don't seem to be working.

A couple of other ways to knock

down some big bucks/points:

Bring a new member to the forum!
When someone signs up for the forum, they

are asked "who refered you?" If they put in your user name, you get 50 points for that. WARNING: registering alter

egos (additional user names) on the forum can get you *permanently* banned. It just happened last week. Do NOT

even think about doing that. Likewise please don't ask friends to sign up unless you think they might be

interested in the forum. If you can get us a *real* new member though, that would be great. In fact, if one of

your signees turns out to be a regular poster, I will "donate" another 100 points to you!

Another way to get

points is to find a good article on pheromones or something closely related out on the internet somewhere.

SwingerMD, just posted something recently and JVK often posts links to new research. NOTE: this is not built into

the system, so you might want to PM me after you post the link so I will be sure to have a look and credit you. I

will "donate" from my own points somewhere between 50 and 100 points for most articles. Could be much more for a

really dynamite submission.

My intention is to use my personal points entirely for donating to regular

bangin' members who are really contributing to the board in a big way. Contrary to what you might have been told

by former members, being a bangin' forum member doesn't mean kissin' booty to the Admins and mods. It means

helping make the forum a safe, fun, healthy and informative place for everyone newbie and vet alike.
