. . . has an ad for electrically diffused pheromones for cats and dogs. Last night from home I typed up

the entire ad and then lost my whole post when my connection got interrupted.

The brand name was Comfort Zone

and there were separate products for cats and dogs. The ad was full of claims like 95% reduction in scratching and

whining etc.

I count myself a Luddite when it comes to this. I am not comfortable with the idea that people are

pumping mammalian pheromones into enclosed spaces to control mammalian behavior. Yes, dogs and cats are the intended

targets. But who knows? I imagine these 'mones could have anti-aphrodisiacal effects given that their goal is to

incresae the passivity of the dogs and cats.

Comfort

Zone (http://www.tjspetshop.com/itemPage.php?sku=66428&PHPSESSID=8f50024d8ab1a99a71d9618d50fa4eba)

I don't think I like it either. But I think as pheromones become more advanced and popular, I

think it's something that's going to happen, whether or not we want it to. We already have businesses pumping out

aromas to affect behavior, such as food smells to increase business, so I see the next step being the displacement

of pheromones into the air. I would be surprised if the law enforcement agencies weren't studying this as a method

of crowd control.

The Comfort Zone thing though, is for the use by individuals in the privacy in their own

homes to control their pets, so I have no real problem with this one. If they were doing it in a movie theatre or

other public location, then I'd have a problem with it.

here ya go.Yes, that's the same stuff. But it's priced in pounds. I don't think the manufacturer is from

the US.

Why not just get a syringe and inject morphine whenever your cat or dog starts to act up?
