Please have a look at the new forum. Give it a test run. It will take a while to get used to all the

new bells and whistles, but you should notice an immediate improvement in performance. It\'s also on a better

server. Gotta do something about our server situation too. We still have to move it to its permanent

Looks nice, one thing I noticed tho is there appears to be problems with messages that have quotes in it. it just

You can get as many PMs as you want, you just can\'t leave them stored in the forum application. It may be

possible to expand that number, but leaving vast numbers of messages stored puts a strain on system resources,

contributing to the kind of slowdowns and breakdowns we have been having lately. That is one weakness of the

present forum application, it doesn\'t offer any protection against that problem.

Sorry about jumping in there like that...but, I use the same discussion forum software

(vBulletin) on my board (http://anabolicminds.com) so I\'m INTIMATELY familiar with the capabilities

and settings.

I\'m glad to see Bruce going to a more robust application for the forum. Once again, coorelating

to my forum, we have about 600-700 people visit DAILY. At any given time there will be 40-50 people actively

surfing and the code is stable, fast, and scalable.

If Bruce needs any help with his new software I\'ll be

happy to volunteer my time!

Well if it runs better than this forum im all in - im sure love-scent gets more visitors (1000+ a day) so if it can

cope thats good.

In terms of love-scent and the assistance bruce is a reseller remember folks and has dozens of

commercial relationships. A lot of the pheromone producers have their own research - bruce is the important middle

guy with all the knowledge base here acculmulated over the years.

And if he gets some assistance or commercial

tie ins then so be it - i would like to see love-scent remain independant though.

But welcome aboard bobby - im

seeing a slight bit of negativity in some quarters - although we have always had many points of view around here

anyway.

This forum works just fine for me to be honest. I´m on another board that is like the new one and there´s loads of

tech problems a lot of the time. But only time will tell, look forward to it anyway

The biggest issue is probably the server that this forum is hosted on. During high traffic hours it runs

terribly slow and every now and then the application will just plain not accept any new users. We are moving to a

dedicated server at the same time we switch forum applications, so the increased performance that I am certain we

will experience, will be mostly do to being on a server powerful enough to host 100 small websites and nobody there

but us!

As for moving from UBBthreads to vBulletin; only time will tell. It will take a while to try out all

the bells and whistles.

I do... It seems that the MySQL database where all the messages are in,

gets really lagged up, not the actual pages, for example if you go to search page it works fine, but if you actually

try a query in the search, it is pretty slow to connect and get the results from the database.
