Several of the many

management courses I\'ve taken over the years emphasized these points to help reduce (job related)

stress:

1. Get some exersize, A couple hours a week swimming, ice skating, roller-blading, walking or working

out at the gym or dojo will do wonders. Frequent sex helps a lot too

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
2. Take reasonable breaks during the day. One of the most common

causes of burnout, job related stress and injuries is the mistaken idea that you\'ll get more done if you don\'t

take breaks. Even just stepping away from your work for a few minutes to stretch every hour makes you more effective

and reduces stress.
3. Limit your work day/week to a reasonable number of hours. Everybody\'s ability is

different so reasonable depends on where you start to feel stressed.
4. Take your vacations! And do something

besides sitting around the house.
5. Limit your alcohol consumption. A drink or two can help you relax, excessive

drinking can lower you natural defenses and make your stress worse.
6. Find reasons to laugh more often.
7. Go

sit in a hot tub for an hour a couple times a week.

Personally, I\'m leaving the country and all my

technology for a week or so at the end of the month. Won\'t even have access to a telephone most of the time

I\'m gone. Going to go live in a tent in a forest for a week, digging up old bones.

yeah that

sort of thing can be SOOOOOO relaxing for people who are into that

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

i think your list should add some massage

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif or pampering of some kind

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif people really should take care of themselves more. not over do it,

that can be baaad but even say having a really good desert or dinner out a month is a pampering too, especially if

you\'re on a diet, give yourself a break /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

One of my clients is a spa. As a result, I get very reasonably priced

swedish massage. I only indulge once in a while but a massage then an hour in the hot tub is a nice break.

You\'re right about the pampering, we all need it and few really indulge themselves the way they should.

Hedonism has a very important place in a healthy lifestyle.

Stress management:

1.

Drink a lot.
2. Go to pistol range. Fire off a couple dozen rounds into a man shaped target.
3. Listen to

tunes.
4. Send hate email to whoever is pissing you off.
5. Complain to anyone who will listen how crappy your

life is in an attempt to garner sympathy or drag them into theri own state of depression. (Misery loves company,

and if someone else is more miserable than you, at least you know someone else is worse than you.)
6. Sequester

yourself from society and eventually turn into a Ted Kazinsky (unibomber) clone.
7. Pierce a body part or get a

tattoo.
8. Go to the zoo. (If somebody has it worse than you, it\'s got to be the pathetic bastard animals

locked up till they die and finally free themselves from that miserable, forced existence.)
9. Call the IRA and

have someone you disliked audited.
10. Blow off the official massage, and treat yourself to a hot oil leisure

massage or a body shampoo.

Kinda ruins the

quasi-ritualistic nature of the thing...

Good gravy, but some dude killed his dad with a samurai sword (actually,

two, his father disarmed him, so he got another one from his room) stating that Satan told him to*.

This happened

on this very island. I\'m glad I\'m leaving soon.

* Satan has really let his standards slip.
